The monastery was founded in 1657.
The church was built in 1696 under Constantin Brâncoveanu.

At the monastery entry you can see the portrait of Arsenie Boca, monk and priest. He was the abbot of the Monastery between 1940-1944.

Then, when you enter into the church, you can see on the right wall
the portrait of His Majesty Michael I of Romania,
who is the second founder of the monastery.

How beautiful! Thank you so much for these photos. I've never been to Romania. I've always wondered what it is like. The yellow field, the monastery, the mountains, the lake, and flowers. Everything is shining and so beautiful. I'd love to visit your country someday in my life time!!
